Elise Gropper is a consultant at The Greeley Company, a division of HCPro, Inc., in Marblehead, MA. She specializes in the areas of Joint Commission accreditation, ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®, CARF accreditation, CMS regulatory compliance, staff development, performance improvement, and patient care redesign. Gropper has served as a consultant to hospitals, behavioral health organizations, home health agencies, long-term care facilities, ambulatory care centers, and physician offices since 1995.
Prior to consulting, she was the associate executive director of nursing at Elmhurst (NY) Hospital and vice president of patient care services at Miami Heart Institute in Miami Beach, FL. Dr. Gropper has served as an appointed member of the Test Development Committee for Nursing Administration Advance by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) from 1995-2004. She is certified in Nursing Administration Advanced and is a certified clinical specialist in gerontological nursing by the ANCC. She is also a certified professional in healthcare quality through the National Association for Healthcare Quality.
Originally trained as a diploma nurse, Dr. Gropper holds a bachelor's in nursing, a master's in nursing administration, and a doctorate in health and human services. She has authored more than 25 articles related to management and patient care issues. Dr. Gropper has held positions of assistant and associate professor of nursing at several universities. She most currently was an adjunct associate professor at Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL, where she taught Nursing Leadership and Management and Nursing Research for more than 10 years.
