Senior Consultant
WendySue Woods, RN, MHSA, CSHA, is a senior consultant with The Greeley Company, a division of HCPro, Inc., in Marblehead, MA. She brings more than 25 years of healthcare experience to her work with hospitals and healthcare organizations across the country.
Woods applies her administrative and nursing experiences to help medical facilities and their staff to develop solutions to their toughest problems. Her varied experience and ability to understand compliance—as well as process improvement strategies and their implications across all levels and perspectives—brings a comprehensive and realistic approach to reengineering and regulatory compliance. She has particular expertise in accreditation, regulatory, and risk management compliance, post-survey clarification work, and process improvement strategies. She consults in all areas of Joint Commission accreditation, CMS compliance, medical staff leadership, quality and process management, customer service, and staff education programs.
Prior to joining The Greeley Company, Woods served in varying hospital administrative roles related to regulatory compliance, quality management and medical staff leadership, successfully leading organizations through Joint Commission and CMS surveys. She also served as administrator of operations and ancillary services at Optimum Physician Services, Inc., a hospital-owned Joint Commission–accredited physician group. In addition, Woods assisted with the development of the South Carolina Hospital Association Mock Survey Task Force and served as its lead surveyor for more than three years.
Woods has presented to healthcare audiences throughout the Southeast on topics ranging from medical staff leadership, organizational improvement, team building, and Joint Commission accreditation. She has been a featured speaker at the annual conference for the Association for Healthcare Accreditation Professionals. Woods is coauthor of the HCPro/Greeley book, Competency Assessment: A Practical Guide to the Joint Commission Standards, Third Edition (2008), and has published articles for various healthcare journals.
Woods completed her training and education at the Millard Fillmore Hospital School of Nursing and the University of Buffalo. She holds a Masters in Health Science Administration and is a Certified Specialist in Healthcare Accreditation.
