Derenda S. Pete, RN, MBA, is a senior consultant with The Greeley Company, a division of HCPro, Inc., in Marblehead, MA. She is a nationally recognized healthcare facilitator and emergency services clinician with more than 25 years of combined experience as project director, senior consultant, healthcare administrator, and department manager.

As a former managing partner of a healthcare management consulting firm, Pete helps institutions across the country address difficult operational issues. By combining her knowledge of best demonstrated practices with profound data analysis skills and practical clinical/operational expertise, she has guided her clients toward improved customer service and profitability. For more than 15 years, the approach Pete has taken with her clients, which typically focuses on process redesign and labor optimization, has been successful in maximizing her clients’ functional capacity and improving their return on investment.

Pete is a cocreator of productivity software and has served as faculty to Urgent Matters, an emergency department improvement effort organized by George Washington University and funded by a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant. Her work has taken her across the country implementing performance improvement initiatives in rural to large teaching hospitals.

Pete has been invited to present on patient flow management at national seminars and audioconferences. She is the coauthor of the following HCPro/Greeley books:

Pete received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lamar University and Master in Business Administration degree from Houston Baptist University.
